Camp Kehonka, located on the border between Wolfeboro and Alton, was in operation from 1902-1985. A girls summer camp, it was believed to be the oldest summer camp in Wolfeboro and had, at its peak, 65 buildings housing 85 staff members and 150 campers. There was a strong focus on social responsibility, crafting, and group responsibility, and was one of the first camps to accept people of all races and religions. C. 1940's.
