Horses were very important to the early settlers. This collection of tools includes farriers and blacksmiths items used to trim horses hooves, measure size for tailored horseshoes, and a couple of old shoes. The item with the curved handle is known as a "Yankee Snow Knocker"; it would hang on the side of a wagon and be used to clear snow from the horse's hoof in the winter.
